This seems to be a hard one for me.....
When my daughter turned one....it was a big deal to me, don't get me wrong. I didn't have much trouble with her turning 2,3, or even 4. But for some reason this year, things have really hit me with her. When I registered her for preschool, I didn't really think much about it. Then, the day came to register her for kindergarten....K.I.N.D.E.R.G.A.R.T.E.N.! Really???? I am not an emotional mess or anything....but thisngs really make me go hmmmm......this year with her.
Her actual birthday isn't until July, but her special school birthday is today. She is sooooo excited. She gets to be first for everything today. She will wear a paper crown today. She will take her birthday treats in today. It will be all about her.......lol! fitting!
Anyway, which leads me to today's picture......
It isn't stamp related at all, but my hubby doesn't get it so I thought there might be a mom out there in blog land that would get "this" right with me....lol!
When I asked her what she wanted to bring for school on her birthday (months ago) she said five cookies.
The conversation went a bit like this:
mom: Oh, you mean cookies with a 5 on them?
her: no
mom: oh, you want each kid to get 5 cookies.....
her: No
mom: what are you talking about then??
her: I want my cookies to be shaped like a 5.
mom:WHAT?!?!!?!??!
her: I want my cookies to look like a number 5 - I am going to be 5!!!
mom: but I make cakes......how about a cake?
her: no
mom: what about cupcakes.....you love cupckase!
her: No!
mom: you can pick out little toys to put on the cupcakes - (hey! I am grabbing at straws here!!)
her: mommmmmm.....I want cookies!
mom: ok......
So, the next time I went to the cake supply store, I looked for a 5 cookie cutter....found it and brought that baby home.
Earlier last week....knowing these cokies were coming......I asked her again what she wanted to bring for her school snack......she will forget about the cookies, right????
WRONG!!!!!
So, here we are today......off to school with these-
What a peanut!
Happy Stampin'!

REALLY?!?!?!?!??
I mean.......REALLY?!?!??!??!?!

Oh Calgon......when will you take me away???
You know.....there are days that I just can't catch a break. And this seems to be one of them......
The dog - who has officially entered toddler hood yesterday, when he turned 1 - has been tormenting my little one all morning. And she can't just walk away - she has to stand in one spot and scream like he has her right arm severed in his mouth when he is really just jumping around and nipping at her feet. So....finally he stopped and I figured he had finally found one of his 2,000 bones he has scattered all over the place and found a nice quiet place to chew on it. SOUNDS NICE, right?!??!?! WRONG!!!!
I walk into the dining room and find this -
Well, not this exactly, he has toilet paper hanging out of his mouth when I found him but spit it out for his big camera photo shoot! My dining room is something like 16x18 and it was covered, I mean covered, with toilet paper!!! I can't believe it all came from one roll......it doesn't seem to last that long hanging on a bathroom wall.......
How can all of this occur in between dressing and undressing Barbi and Ken???? Which I am now the new Mattel stylist for Barbi..........right down to the perfect accessories. :o)
I do have some stampin related things to show you - I need to photograph them and get them posted later today or tomorrow - pinky swear ;)
And then you will have to come back Thursday-Saturday for the RemARKable Love tour......

Ever wonder what it is that I do in a day??
LOL!!! If you do...you would -probably be disappointed. :) I have a few things to share with you today. One is not at all paper related....but became paper related....and started as paper related.

She also brought me some little army vehicles and men, so I made two roads on the cake. yum.
So there you have it....an invitation that inspired a cake that inspired a card. I would love to know what you think of it all. Leave me a comment below to taste the cake :)
Are you confused yet??? I think I am!
Ok...here is what I mean. My cousin came to me a few weeks ago and said - "Can you make a cake that looks like this?" and handed me this:
(began as paper....see where I am going with this????)
I said sure! Do you want the color sprayed on or all in icing? Icing won, hands down.....she {luvs} my icing. If you know me personally, you know I also dabble in cake decorating on the side. I took a series of classes after I had my daughter because I wanted to learn something new. I know...that sounds crazy but here is something even crazier...I went to college and then went to beauty school because I wanted to learn something new... I ended up totally loving it and made a pretty lucrative career out of it for 12 years before I had my little one. That is way off base, though, huh? hehehe!! But you see my desire to keep learning new things....lol!
So....here is the cake:
I had a card made with build a bear on it for him....and about an hour before we had to go to his party....I thought to myself...."self....he wanted an army party - give him an army card" But I do not have any stamps military related - none. So I was sitting in my studio....what to do, what to do? I pulled out always artichoke....yep - looks like military green. Then I pulled out artichoke's counter part, mellow moss - ooooo I am liking this. So, I needed a brown - pulled out creamy caramel....NO WAY!...that wasn't working for me.....how about close to cocoa? Oh Yeah...perfecto! Black, that is a no brainer!
And I started to cut....and cut....cut a little here....cut a little there.....snail some here....snail some there....cut more....ooooooo......me likey......pull out sentiment set, on your birthday, stamped it in basic black on very vanilla. Mount that on basic black. ooooooo....I am going to like this.....Adhere the sentiment panel with stampin dimensionals.
Oh my word.....too cute!
Wanna see?

I couldn't leave out the bears......
It wouldn't be a tour of the mini catalog without some Build A Bear. Today is the last day of the tour so be sure to strap on your seat belt and take the ride :)

The background page is regal rose. The designer series paper is from tall tales. Each photo was matted with rose red. I cut out flowers from the designer series paper for the sequence of events. I then stamped the numbers from calendar numbers and letters with brilliant blue onto whisper white and punched them out with the 1/2 inch circle punch. They are mounted with stampin dimensionals. The "BUILD A BEAR" title was cut with my big shot and the billboard sizzlet strip die.

This really isn't "holiday" per say...but the build a bear is released in the holiday mini - so that counts, right? I made a two page layout for today. I had tons of fun with the bears!!!!
First, if you have never been here before on a scrapbook day....I don't put my little one's face online so she is covered up for a reason. I have had people wonder why I took pictures with scraps on my pages before :)
I cut the bears with my big shot as well. There is one main Build a Bear Stampin' Up Bigz Bear die and then I used the Stampin' Up Beary Essentials die to cut out the clothes. It doesn't get any easier than that folks ;)
Here are the bears up close. I think sponging their edges really brought them to life :)
Leave me some love to let me know what you think. If you have enjoyed my blog as part of your tour, please book mark my site, I would love to have you back.
Any products used here can be bought through your Stampin' Up! demonstrator. If you don't already have a demonstrator, contact me. I would be happy to help you out.
Don't leave just yet.....you need to hop on over to Becky's Blog, she is the next stop on the tour. :)

Here We Go Steelers.....Here We Go.....
.....Pittsburgh's gonna win the Super Bowl! (crossing fingers :) )
After tonight, there may be a whole new meaning to the phrase "six pack!"

I have to share this prayer poem with you...it is on my 4 or 5 upline's blog....I laughed out loud when I read it....
Our Father,
Who Art in Pittsburgh,
Football be thy Game.
The Kingdom come,
5 Super Bowls won,
At Earth as it is in Heinz Field.
Give us this day, a SUPERBOWL win,
And forgive us our penalties,
As we defeat those who play against us.
But lead us into a VICTORY,
And deliver us to HISTORY!!!!
A-Ben
cute, huh?
Now....How about a little science lesson for the day....

Take a moment to remember....
Click on this link to watch a small video on September 11, 2001.
Chilling....it is hard to remember life before it.

It is hard to believe that life as we know it was for ever changed between 8:45 am - 10:10 am by 4 airplanes filled with innocent passengers and a hand full of terrorists. So many lives lost here, on our American soil, senselessly.
Even though the video focuses on New York City....take a moment to remember The Pentagon and the heroes that brought down another terrorist plane right here in Pennsylvania.
I have really been reflecting on his lately. My daughter had a play date this past Monday in honor of September 11th. Now, she wasn't even born when it occurred but I want her to understand the impact it had on our country, when she is old enough to grasp it. Her play date was to cut things out of a magazine and glue down to resemble a flag. She isn't near old enough to even "get" that - she just turned 3 but it was important to me that she actually glued in a flag pattern. I will scrapbook that for her along with journaling about September 11th. I think that sometimes scrap book shouldn't just be filled with happy...it needs to be filled with "life" And that one day has changed our lives in more ways than we will probably ever realize.
Sorry to be so "heavy" this morning.....
