What a fantastic card! Love everything about it. Now for my organizational tip. I've got my SU cardstock stored in our Paper Holders by color family. I lay the holders on their side so I can just slide out what I need. Makes replenishing a breeze! Love the Stampin Stack & Store too. Great for all of our fun embellishements!

Blogger's Challenge - week 52! and BLOG CANDY!!!!

Men...men...men..men...manly men men....ooooo-uoooooo.....mmmmmennnnnn.......

Any of you watch 2 and a half men???? That song has been in my mind since I knew this week's assignment was to do a manly themed card.....lol!

My daughter always sings "I'm gonna be a cowboy baby...." every time she sees a cowboy hat...maybe I should have been thinking those words.... NO...my daughter doesn't listen to Kid Rock...ever....but she puts on a cowboy hat and we sing that line to her. Well...I sing that line to her. lol! So now she sings it.

Funny thing.....Yesterday my neighbor was mowing his grass and he had a hat on, not a cowboy hat...more of a golfing hat....and we were outside in the front yard (yard sale...) and she broke out in song..."Hey mommy! He's gonna be a cowboy baby!!!" I about died with laughter....I'm sure you had to be here....enough rambling! Sorry...can't help myself! Must be the 15 years I spent behind the hairdresser chair yapping!

I will confess though.....this card wasn't stamped this week.... I have been working feverishly on getting ready for my yard sale ( going on this weekend) and when the sale is over for the day my little is starving for me! So needless to say...I haven't stamped in over a week!! I know!!!! What has happened?!?!?!?!? But I haven't posted much and I feel bad about that! Today's card was actually submitted for an award...didn't win...but none the less...I still love it!

I can't go into deep detail today.....I am cramming this post in before I have to head outside.

Here is a close up of the brads...in the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit in the current mini. If you haven't gotten them this is the last week to get 'em....
I made brad washers like in my tutorial here, only I made them larger to accommodate the larger brads.....love it!

Wanna see more of that yummy hardware????

Here is a close up of that delish cowboy....my flash made it look like we were about to experience an eclipse! lol!!!

NOW FOR THE BLOG CANDY.........

I have to apologize...I have no picture....but....you will win a pack of Sale-a-Bration rub ons, a pack of adhesive rhinestone bling I found in my stash, a bracelet kit shown here, and a handmade card from me, little ole me!

What do you have to do to win???? Leave a comment on this post with your favorite organizational thing you do in your stamping space...if you don't have a favorite tip...leave a comment anyway....you can still win! I will drawn a random number with all of the entries on Tuesday night and post the winner here. Make sure you don't leave you comment as "annonymous" I won't know who the winner is. One comment per person, please.

NEW PRODUCT LINE FOR STAMPIN' UP!

Did I get your attention??????

Stampin' Up! told the demonstrators last week that they would be releasing a new "product line" next week...meaning this week. Needless to say...the speculation was brewing.... I voted to have them go into a stamped chocolate line...the perfect excuse to eat chocolate while stamping, right??? Well, I can tell you right off....it is not a chocolate line! (They never listen to me.....why not????)

Do I still have your attention????

Well....Yesterday was the day. They were releasing the information in an audio download at noon mountain time....3:00 for us in PA. My download took about an hour to download....I think the demonstrators crashed the system!!! lol! So I waited.....and waited....and waited......waited some more.....Then finally.....there it was!

Wanna know what the "new line" is???? It' is rude for me to string you along, huh? So no more stringing......

Our new line is an extension of the Definitely Decorative line. Stampin' Up! has introduced the Decor Elements line. It is a line of self adhesive vinyl wall decoration. There will be phrases and images that already coordinate with Stampin' Up!'s product line. The line will be released in three colors for now. There are 100 images and phrases in white and chocolate....hey!! I guess they did listen to me...We just can't eat it! hehehe!!! And there will be one image in Kraft.

They are to post the sales brochure online today...pending no crashing of sites...I will post it here for you to see.

Stampin Up! is manufacturing them right in Riverton, Utah...just like our stamps...made in the good 'ol US of A!!!!!! Way to go Stampin Up! :)

Father's Day....A day late....

and a dollar short! lol!

This was the card I made my Dad for Father's Day. Things around here have been ignorant busy for over a week....sorry for the lack of posting!

The card base is actually chocolate chip (hard to tell in the picture). The left panel is close to cocoa ran through the crimper - I really love that thing!!! - and then I swiped it with the close to cocoa pad to "grunge" it up a bit. I used the mat pack and piercer to line up the brad holes....I could not line them up with out that thing! The right panel is from Afternoon Tea. See??? All of the paper in that pack isn't feminine....I originally thought it would all be feminine looking....but not so. Speaking of Afternoon Tea....This is the last month to order from the Spring Mini Catalog. The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment comes from All Holidays and is stamped with close to cocoa ink onto confetti cream card stock.

I stamped the sea shells from Sea Side onto confetti cream with basic brown ink. I water colored them with ink pad refills and an aquapainter. I adhered them with stampin' dimensionals - are you surprised???? lol! See the bling on the sea shells??? I found, in my stash, a pen that is glittery....I tried it. I think it looks nice, do you? I had to add bling - but not too much bling....this was my Dad's card after all! hehehe!!!!

That about sums it up! Don't forget about my Retirement Stamp Sale - This is the only week!!!!

A day at the Beach!

Hi all!
I want to show you a scrapbook layout that was submitted for a contest...didn't win...but I thought you'd enjoy the eye candy!

Speaking of candy.....I am going to offer my first ever blog candy really soon...so keep your eye open for it. I surpassed 20, 000 hits on this blog...so I'm gonna celebrate by giving you the chance to win some goodies!

Anyway...back to the task at hand...this page. I took this picture last year when we decided to go to Erie for a few days for a mini get away. I have always loved this particular picture...as a matter of fact....I am tearing up now thinking about it. It is sentimental crap so I won't bore you with that....my little girl is growing up so fast!
The base is close to cocoa. I stamped the sea shells from Seaside with versamark and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. My journaling was done with the Write me a Memory Journaling Font CD around the picture on the bordering blue mat. The picture was matted with a thin layer of chocolate chip. The accent shells were stamped onto watercolor paper with basic brown and then watercolored with an aquapainter and watercolor crayons. I cut each of them out and adhered them around the page.

Here is the entire layout:

The title "good times" was a rub on from the Urban West collection. I put it right on the picture.

Here are some closeups of the shells....the conch shell and the long shell (name???) has crystal effects on the "inside" of the shell...hard to see in pictures. I also showed a closeup of the dimension of the shells....had to get my stampin' dimensionals in there, huh?

Sorry if I bored you with too many pictures.....I couldn't stop myself! LOL!!!!

A Tisket, A Tasket......

Wanna see my basket????

hehe!!! I was sitting at my desk at a loss for what to make for a three dimensional item to submit for a contest...while staring me right in the face....a small Longaberger basket with adhesives in it. I briefly thought....maybe I should recreate that....no, I couldn't do it. Then I told myself "why not??? You have woven many Longaberger baskets while on trips to Dresden....." So I started to cut card stock "splints." I stamped each one with my weathered background stamp and sponged all of the edges. Away I went trying to construct the basket bottom.....

I wove......I tightened....I adjusted.....wove some more.....

see?

Here is the close up of the label:

I used rough edges mini alphabet for the "Farm Fresh" and used my tag corner punch for the edges of the tag. I stamped two strawberries with Tart and Tangy and cut them out. I made 3D strawberries out of Summer Picnic paper and topped them off with a punched flower from boho blossoms punch and the olive poly twill ribbon for stems. I even made my own dried grass with the crimper.

That about sums it up! :)
go stamp! :)

Ding ding ding da ding ding ding da ding......

If you have ever been to a casino, you have probably heard this sound a lot! Never seems to be the machine I am playing though...... It has been a few years since I have been to a casino but the sound, I never forget. When we used to go...I swear I could hear that sound in my sleep!!!!To be honest....I don't really get the hoopla of playing slots. We used to go just for fun....then a long weekend in Vegas cured that! Too much gambling fo rme!!! After about 10 minutes of a casino now and I am ready to move on....too boring for me! I like to see stuff when I vacation...not lay around casinos. Don't get me wrong, we saw stuff in Vegas. It was slot "over load" for me. Oh well....think of the money I will save not going to casinos in the future......I can spend that on stamps!!!!! lol!

Why all the talk about slots and casinos????

I wanted to share a card I submitted for a contest recently...which I didn't win. Oh well! So, without further adieu.....

This is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square card...so extra postage would be in order. I used Tart and Tangy on the white panels to create my spinning wheels. I drew a line across the center with my Stampin' Write Journaler and a ruler. Those panels were matted onto basic black. The card base is brushed silver card stock. I created the pull handle by cutting a strip of basic black and the punching a circle with the 3/4 inch circle punch. I added a "shine" accent with my white gel pen. The sentiment "dream BIG" comes from It's All Good. I inked it up with stampin' write markers - real red and basic black. It was matted with real red and adhered with stampin' dimensionals over the handle base.

See the money tray?????

It was a three dimensional tray with coins made from punching 3/4 inch circles and small ovals of brushed silver and brushed gold card stock. I sponged the edges off those coins with basic black. They were adhered at all different dimensions with...you guessed it....stampin dimensionals!

Fun, huh?

Hey!!! Have I mentioned that the RETIREMENT LIST comes out JUNE 15th!??!?!??!?!!?!!!!! Oh my!!! Let the excitement begin.......

Hi all!

I'm going to be very quick today....flu has hit me hard this week! I thought I was feeling better yesterday...today not so good!

The challenge this week was black and white. I can do that, right? It was harder than I thought...I wanted to add a touch of color here...silver there....argh!!!! I did add bling....hopefully I didn't break any challenge laws :) hehe!

stamps: dare to be fabulous, sanded, holidays and wishes
card stock, basic black, whisper white
ink: basic black, black craft
accessories: mat pack and piercer, stampin dimensionals, iridescent ice embossing powder, heat tool, vintage brads (black) (I can't believe I didn't use ribbon!!! lol!)

well...that's it folks.....gotta lay on the air conditioner vent!

Welcome baby!

It seems like everyone I know is having babies!!! It is so exciting! Today's card went out with yesterday's mail in a care package for a good friend from high school that had a baby girl. it was her third...and from what I hear the two older kiddos are big helpers! I can't wait for her to come to PA so I can meet the newest addition. Anyway, here is the card.
The base is pretty in pink (what else???? right?) The stroller image, from fun and fast notes, was stamped onto whisper white card stock with basic brown ink. I water colored it with classic ink refills and an aquapainter. I added sparkle on the dots and the heart with dazzling diamonds and a 2 way glue pen. What little girl's stroller would be complete without bling?!?!??!? Right? I matted that onto regal rose.

The sentiment is from nursery necessities, inked with regal rose. The ric rak is from beachfront ribbon originals cut to size. See the adornments????

I used the beads from the pink bead dou and a staple to hold the ric rak down. Now I need more colors of bead dous!!!!!
