I have been thinking of You.......

I started today to make a sympathy card. I don't know about you, but when I actually need the Sympathy card....I hate to make it, so I try to make up a few ahead sometimes. I thought today would be one of those cards....but it evolved into a Thinking of You card...which is great in itself. I did not put a sentiment inside, Thinking of You can go in so many directions....sympathy....get well....how about just hello.....birthday.....you get the picture. :)

In making this card...it went a total different direction than what I had in my head....my "about to split open" head! My headache is one of those that your vision is blurred a little....argh!!! It is a brought on myself headache, I think. NO....I was not drinking last night, last week or even last year.....I am trying to break myself off of my caffinated diet orange sunkist soda. I {luv} it....but I have been having off the charts heart burn...I will spare all of you the details of the acid puking in my sleep...that is how bad it has been. It dawned on me about a week ago that it might be the orange soda....or chocolate....oh my!

pause....my little one is standing behind me on my computer chair and her Finding Nemo movie is over and she wants me dance like an anemone.....oh jeez! lol! Ever see that debt monkey commercial???? Well....I call my little girl "my silly monkey"...need I say any more? hehehe!!!

ok...I'm back. So back to my first getting off track....this past Wednesday I did not have any diet orange all day...no firing inferno in my throat or dragon flames when I opened my mouth.... We stopped at Giant Eagle before going to my daughter's peewee bowling league...and there it was in the cooler beside out register...I caved. A half of a 16 oz. bottle later...I feel like I am going to die!!! So last night...I tested the waters with Diet Coke...my previous love....and no heart burn. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT!??!?!??!?!?! And you know what....after my diet coke last night...no more headache either...so now I have a caffeine dependence it seems....lol! So here I sit with my diet coke, trying to recover......

Oh the card!!! Sorry about getting off track of getting off track.....you see I am in diet orange soda detox.....

Here it is anyway....

The main image is from Thoughts and Prayers. This is such a beautiful stamp set. The sentiments are unbelievable....the two main images are gorgeous....I just can't say enough. I can say though that I don't think this card does the set justice....I will have to try again. Oh darn.....I will HAVE to stamp again.....

I embossed the tree image with versamark and clear embossing powder on mellow moss card stock. I sponged mellow moss and always artichoke around it...creating a haze of sorts.... I then matted that onto very vanilla and then chocolate chip. Next I pulled out my new 5/16th inch brads in chocolate chip .....my, are these babies nice! I put them in the three corners and then adhered that whole panel down with stampin' dimensionals. The sentiment is also from thoughts and prayers. I inked it up with always artichoke and stamped it onto very vanilla and then punched it out with my wide oval punch.

Did you see that panel that surrounds the sentiment?????? I cut that with my big shot and my new sizzlet die from lots of tags. The wide oval fits it perfectly!!!! I mounted that up on stampin dimensionals and tied a piece is mellow moss taffeta ribbon through it and around the card.

That about sums it up....I sure hope I did not let you down. Now to go caress my diet coke....

Time to Sale A Brate Easter!

Hi Stampers! Boy did I have fun making this little sweetie!
It is hard to tell in the picture, but the card base is sahara sand. The background panel is from delicate dots designer series paper. This is a really nice set of designer series paper....it is excellent for anything spring or summer! I stamped the flourish only from the "something for you" stamp in the Yummy stamp set in basic grey. This particular stamp was designed to fit on the edge of the top note die...but doesn't it look wonderful on a card front? I then pulled out my all holidays set and grabbed the Easter Wishes stamp and stamped it in basic grey as well. I matted it in a thin layer of certainly celery and then onto the card base. I then tied a simple knot with the celery poly twill ribbon around the top. I love the poly twill ribbon...you would think it would be thick since it is twill...but it isn't...it is so smooth and shiny....LOVE it! The horizontal panel started with a layer of bashful blue, which I ran through my big shot using the dots texturz plate from the exclusive Stampin' Up texturz. I then layered that with a thin layer of certainly celery as well.

Now for those flower panels....did I pass these off as- sort of - kind of - maybe a - daffodil???? Probably not...but that was the inspiration I had since it was an Easter card....lol! Anyway, I stamped the celery leaves and outline from botanical blooms on the white squares and mounted those onto stampin' dimensionals along the blue panel. I then stamped the half flower and outline in so saffron, also from botanical blooms. I cut them out and mounted them on stampin' dimensionals as well.

Ok...so let's do a recap.

Delicate dots designer series paper - FREE
Yummy stamp set - FREE
Botanical Blooms stamp set - FREE
Certainly celery poly twill ribbon - FREE

So, everything on this card except the solid color card stock and the sentiment were, you guessed it - FREE!!!! {luv} that! :)

Here is a closer look at the dimension as well as a shot of the embossed dots on the bashful blue layer.
What do you think? I would love to know.....I am kind of a "comment junkie"....LOL!!!

I wonder what it would cost

to mail my card for today???? Two of my club girls work for the postal service...I should have them guess for me and then have this puppy weighed! LOL!!! Are you up for this challenge Stephanie and Anisia?

I have been busy prepping for my "Send a Sweet Stem" Stamp Camp on Friday so I have (among LOTS of other stuff....;) ) the raspberry tart designer series paper and my sweet stems set along with all the coordinating goodies on my desk. My goal is to eventually have a neat desk top...but I am NOT a neat crafter...I usually have a square foot of work space on my huge desk....I need to get to work on that, huh? lol! Want to see the card???

I think all totaled, it is 16 layers plus dimensionals, brads and ribbon......I just could not stop!

I really can't get into what is on what layer.....that would make for a gigantic post...lol! But I can give you the recipe for this beauty, if I may say so myself!

The stamps I used were sweet stems and on your birthday (sentiment). All of the designer series paper is from raspberry tart. The card stock colors are kiwi kiss, real red, cameo coral and whisper white. Let's see...the accessories are earth elements brads, 1/16th handheld punch, crop a dile (to make brad washers - tutorial HERE, I used the larger hole punch on the crop a dile instead of the 1/4 inch circle punch - I think that punch is now retired... :( ), stampin dimensionals, blender pen, stampin write markers, scallop edge punch, 1 1/4 circle punch and 1 3/8 inch circle punch. Oh...I forgot about the kiwi double sided satin ribbon...oh how smooth it is!!!!

I will give you a better shot at all of that dimension.....
And as if it weren't heavy enough...I went ahead and decorated the inside...LOL!! Let me tell you....I wanted to put that circle flower on a dimensional so bad I could hardly take it! I thought that putting stampin dimensionals on the inside of a card might be a little over the top....what do you think? lol!I would love to hear what you think about this card....my "campers" will be making 4 cards Friday with this stamp set and designer series paper and will get to take the stamp set home with them!!!! This isn't one of the cards they will make, but I want to give them and you lots more inspiration!

I have pushed my way out....

of the huge pile of laundry that has been bogging me down! I am not completely done...but I think I finally have a handle on it....lol! Actually, the loads need shifted right now, but I would rather post this card I made a few minutes ago. hehehe!!!

I combined challenges, of sorts. I used this week's color challenge by Kristina which is more mustard, really rust, kiwi kiss, and whisper white. And then I pulled out this week's Mojo sketch as a starting point. I want to use my new Sale A Bration stamps...I luv 'em. I will always love free rubber....ALWAYS! Anyway...here is what I did:

The card base is whisper white and then I made a background panel out of really rust that I had run through my big shot with the new exclusive stampin' up texturz plates.....I love these!!! I ordered both the Stampin' Up set and the regular set and let me tell you....the Stampin' Up exclusive plates are a much deeper etch than the regular ones. That doesn't really surprise me, they (SU) have a very high standard for deeply etched stamps and if you have used cheap stamps versus Stampin' Up stamps, you know exactly what I mean.

The vertical kiwi kiss stripes are from the kiwi kiss designer series patterns papers. Now for the fun part...you didn't think it could get any better than the texturz plates, huh? Well...I don't know if it is better...but it was fun at any rate! My main image panel is whisper white. I made a flower vase out of the wide oval punch...I cut the top and bottom off, swiped it with the more mustard ink pad...voila!...a flower vase! I then stamped the leaves from Botanical Blooms in kiwi kiss randomly. On scrap paper, I stamped the two styles of flowers in more mustard and really rust and cut them out. I arranged them around the leaves...fun, huh? The matt layer is kiwi kiss stamped with just the leave out line randomly. I matted that entire panel with a very thin layer of whisper white to give it some "pop" off of the page. My sentiment was stamped onto whisper white with really rust, also from botanical blooms. I then stamped the leaf "insides" in kiwi kiss, stamping off first. I punched that with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch and then matted that with a 1 3/8 inch circle punch in more mustard. I punched a hole in the top of the sentiment circle with my crop o dile and threaded kiwi kiss satin ribbon around the main panel and through the hole and tied a bow. All of that is mounted up on stampin' dimensionals.

Here is a different angle of the texture...I'm not sure how good you can see it in the picture....but it is great texture on real life!
Remember when I said I was going to start doing a little to the insides on my cards? Here is a shot of that...I just stamped the flower twice in the lower corner. cute.

Let me know what you think, I would love to know :)

It's been a while

Boy...where has the time gone??? Sorry for my lack of posting lately, I have been so busy with "stuff." It seems like as soon as you think you will get caught up, you realize you aren't! lol!!! I had my three clubs last week....what fun times! I really do look forward to meeting with the stamper's clubs...we have so much fun!

I am going to show you a sympathy card I needed a few weeks ago and just didn't get posted until now. It is so hard to sit down to design a sympathy card, I think. I wanted a rather simple design but not too simple, you know?

I absolutely love the color combination of baja breeze with not quite navy....I mean....I love it!
See the sentiment panel??? I punched the edges with the curly label punch....sweet, huh?

What do you think?

Here is another angle:
Oh yeah? Remember I said I was going to try to do more with my insides? Check this out....

recipe:
stamps: close as a memory, kindred spirits
card stock: not quite navy, baja breeze, whisper white, urban garden
ink: baja breeze, not quite navy, versamark
accessories: heat tool, clear embossing powder, brayer, baja breeze striped grosgrain ribbon, curly label punch, crop a dile, stampin' diemnsionals

Blogger's Chalenge

Happy Valentine's Day (eve)!!!

Today's Blogger's Challenge was to make something Valentine's. That is perfect....we are headed out to a Valentine Party for a play group we belong to this morning. We were to bring along a little valentine for the kiddos to exchange. It is going to be all toddlers there so I didn't really know what type of candy to give since it is a variety of ages, mostly 3 and under. So I bought some store mass produced valentines that had little red heart lollipops in them. The store valentine's went in the trash...I only wanted the lollipops.

I made them super simple since they were going to three year olds....lol!

I wanted to incorporate the Sale A Bration set, polka dot punches...I LOVE anything that goes with punches!!! I stamped the heart in whisper white craft ink and punched it out with my full heart punch. The sentiment is from Holidays and Wishes. The main panel is kraft, and I swiped the edges with the whisper white craft ink pad. The background is whisper white and I used the new eyelet border punch along the bottom.....I sure love that new punch!

Wanna see what I did with the back? VERY easy! I punched two holes with my crop a dile and slipped the lollipop stick through .....I didn't want the heart on the front to compete with the heart lollipop..... :)

**sorry for the poor pictures...I don't have time to edit this morning :)

How sweet it is

...to be among new rubbah!!! I pulled out me sweet stems stamp set, which you will receive as part of your stamp camp fee at the end of February, and used it in a different way...at least I think I did....lol!

Here is my card for you today:

Isn't it sweet? I think so, if I may say so myself.....

The main image panel was made by stamping the stem of one of the sweet stems flowers in close to cocoa. I put the little hearts on the tops as "flowers." They were punched with my heart to heart punch. I mounted them up on stampin' dimensionals. All of the designer series paper is candy lane. All edges were sponged with close to cocoa and a stampin' sponge. Did you notice the ribbon? It is the riding hood striped grosgrain, but I sponged it with close to cocoa to tone down the white stripes....you like? And then there are two brand spankin' new chocolate chip corduroy buttons (these are actually brads...but they are in the button collection :) ) in the top corner.....Oh how I lOVE these!!!!! I will be putting together a "share" with the new accessories very soon...be sure to keep on the look out!

Here is a different angle to see the dimension and those beauties!!!

Texturz fun!

Hi Stampers!

The minute I unpacked my new box of goods.....I jumped online to check out the color challenge today....it is to use tempting turquoise, pixie pink, green galore, and lovely lilac! I don't think my new Thoughts and prayers stamp set would work for that......I could have used petal pizazz....but my mind would not let me leave a layout that was in my head.....why do I do this to myself!?!??!?! LOL!!

So...even though I did not use new rubbah....I used some neglected rubbah - Sock Monkey. I loved this set when I first got it and I have really been neglecting it. My layout would not allow that sweet monkey though....oh my! Here is what I came up with:

Wouldn't this be cute for a young girl's birthday?? I don't have a ton of time for deets....but look at the sweet embossing I did.....with my new Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 texture plates!!!

I will come back later to post more details...until then - Happy Stampin'!

OMGosh!!!! My order is here!!!

My new goodies were just delivered by the "other man in my life..." The UPS man! lol!!! I have to go unpack the box and try out new stuff...I hope to have something NEW to share with you today.....Now let's all hope that the Toy Story movies will still keep the kiddo's interest so I can create!!!!

Oh sweet smell of new rubbah!!!!

Here We Go Steelers.....Here We Go.....

.....Pittsburgh's gonna win the Super Bowl! (crossing fingers :) )
After tonight, there may be a whole new meaning to the phrase "six pack!"

I have to share this prayer poem with you...it is on my 4 or 5 upline's blog....I laughed out loud when I read it....

Our Father,
Who Art in Pittsburgh,
Football be thy Game.
The Kingdom come,
5 Super Bowls won,
At Earth as it is in Heinz Field.
Give us this day, a SUPERBOWL win,
And forgive us our penalties,
As we defeat those who play against us.
But lead us into a VICTORY,
And deliver us to HISTORY!!!!
A-Ben

cute, huh?

Now....How about a little science lesson for the day....
