Welcome to the Paper Crafters Sampler “High Tea” blog hop featuring our 3D teapot template from the March issue of the Paper Crafters Sampler entitled, “Orange Blossom Tearoom”.

With the current trend of tea images in the paper crafting world, it only seemed appropriate to offer a tea-related template, and that is our newest “High Tea” 3D, teapot.

Now-a-days, teapot come in so many sizes and shapes, it was easy to select one for my inspiration. What did you think of what I’ve created ?

I took my inspiration from pictures of Vintage French Enamelware Coffee Pots - I think they look more like modern day tea pots ;)  Here is my inspiration photo:

I did a fun little technique to get mine spotty and shiney :)  I first cut out the template and then went to town.  This template was very easy to put together and super fun!!  Here are some shots of it:

The lid even comes OFF!!!  And there is an opening in the spout to pour treats out of!

I had SO much fun embellishing this beauty!  Here is a close up of the flowers and hopefully a better picture of the finish of the tea pot :

Well - I have still been tinkering with the templates from Paper Crafters Sampler Library and I had to try one of the Limoge Trinket Boxes from 2011 Christmas Issue.  I mean -I had to - how could you not want to try one of these awesome boxes?

So - You wanna see my version of the Limoge Trinket Box?  I would love to share it with you.

I am really  - I mean REALLY - gonna miss the Sale A Bration designer series paper, Everyday Enchantment.  It is just so beautiful!

And not to mention that there is a coordinating pack of brads and organza ribbon that you can also get for FREE!  Here is a closer shot of the flower on top. 

Did you see that curled up ribbon?  I took the ribbon and taped the end to a pencil (it was closest - looking for a round dowel rod was out of the question - lol!) and spiralled (is that a word?) it around the pencil and taped the other end to the pencil.  Then I pulled out my trusty Heat tool and heated it up.  Let it cool and took off pencil - PERFECT - cool curled ribbon.  {{luv}}

The makings of a summer

Howdy everyone!!!  Have you missed me?  I sure have missed each and every one of you!!!  I promised in the last post that I would be back with some scrapbook pages I made for the baseball player that stayed with us this summer.  So here I am for that :)

If you follow my blog and have seen pages of my daughter - you know I put a sticky note over her face....I haven't done that here (except the pages that have her in them)......Brooks is a 21 year old, 6 foot 4 inch, extremely well built....so I don't think anyone will try to kid nap him from the web.......my little girl, another story.....I know I am strange about the Internet and pictures.....but I can't help myself.......

The entire album used the same supplies - crumb cake, garden green, basic black and very vanilla card stock.  I also used some retired Stampin' Up! sets to create the designer series papers and the baseball accents.  Everything in the book is Stampin' Up!, I believe, so if you have any questions....just ask.  :)

Brooks encompasses the love of baseball and determination.  I sure hope this scrapbook will bring back fond memories of his stay with us for life.

From the archives.......

Hi All!  I have pulled out a little goodness from my archives......lol!!  I made a stack of these for my daughter's dance instructor for Christmas this year.  The stamp set is really retired.....but I will hang onto it as long as my little one dances her Wednesday nights away.  I must confess....this post is really directed for my club ladies.....we did a bleaching technique last month and I was explaining different types of stamp sets that worked well with that technique and I was telling them about these cards.  I don't usually post anything that is retired.....but the stamp set is the only thing retired here....the rest is current goodness.

Here is a picture of the card I made:

I sewed on the blushing bride ribbon in a random, zig zaggy like fashion.  Want a  closer look at the dancer?  I colored her with stampin write markers - pretty in pink, regal rose, and blush blossom.

Oops!  My bad!!!  The buttons were just out of my stash.....just random buttons - so I guess everything wasn't current goodness after all......


Well....I better run - life is chomping at my heels, again ;)

I have had a couple of ladies that are sewers that didn't follow my direction on how to cut the fabric to keep it in one long piece to wrap a candle.  Well........I will try to spell it out another way.  I will warn you though....I usually just talk in circles and make things more confusing :)

First - cut your fabric a couple off inches longer than the circumfrence of your candle jar.  You will need to cut a piece of inner fabric (I used el cheapo muslin) and a piece of fabric for the outer cover - pretty stuff :)  Now - lay them on top of each other - left to right being the long way.  (a rectangle with the longest side being the top and bottom)

Take that fabric sandwich to your scallop square clear die.  Lay the die face up.  Place the left hand short edge just over the scallop cutting edge.  Fold the rest of the sandwich back and forth - NOT LETTING THE FABRIC CROSS THE LEFT OR RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE DIE.  The folds must allow the right hand side of the rectangle of fabric to cross the cutting die.  Sandwich that between two cutting plates and run that baby through the big shot.  Now, i didn't worry about the scallops lining up when folding the fabric because I was planning on snipping the edges and washing it to shabby it up a bit.  Here is a look at that die again - Hopefully I have cleared some things up for you.......

There you have it.  I sewed a strip of velcro on it to keep it wrapped around the candle and embellished it with a few jumbo buttons.

Would you like to know how I cut that fabric with my big shot to create a one piece scalloped edge wrap for the candle in the last post?  You remember - this one??

Well.....I have a quick picture for you.  I decided ot make one for a gift I need for this weekend.....this might just become my "go to" gift for a while.....lol!!!

First - measure the candle jar circumfrence.  The candle I bought is approximately 15 inches.  I cut my fabric roughly 17 inches.  I also cut a piece of el cheapo muslin for the inside about the same size.  I am really particular with measurements, huh?  hehehe!!!

Lay your two pieces of fabric together.  Lay on your scallop square clear die, being careful to only let the outer edges cross the die's cutting edge on the left and right.  You will have to fold your fabric back and forth something like this:

Make sense?  Don't mind the candyland game box in the background.....I was in a super hurry to take the picture....so I just whipped it onto my chair and snapped the picture - throwing caution to the wind of what was in the background.  lol!!!!

I will then cut a piece of felt by the yard instead of using quilt batting.  For craft items like this, the felt is heavy enough.  I will quilt it by machine and then attach the velcro strips to create a wrap.  Don't forget to snip into your scalloped edges and wash and dry it to create a raggy look.  When I get it finished - I will share that with you too.

Well.....I better run, I have two days worth of stuff I want to accomplish in one day.  What else is new, huh?

Hi Stampers!!!

Guess what?????  I have a new goodie to share with you today!  My grandma's birthday was this weekend and I had a gift idea in mind to make.  She almost always has a jar candle burning and I got to thinking.......What if a person likes the scent of a particular candle, but doens't like the color?????  You know....one of my favorite Ynakee scents is pink and I don't have a pink thing in my house except my little girl's room.  Now, that color hasn't stopped me from buying it....but what if it had? 
{lol}  Am I the only one who thinks up these thoughts????  {probably....}

But anyway....I got to work. 


I wanted to make a fringy type of cover, a cozie of sorts.....out of fabric.....something that could be used for more than one candle......(I put paper embellies around a jar candle for both my Grams and thy hated to burn them because the paper embellies couldn't be used again.....)

I cut the fabric with the big shot and the scallop square die.  But - you say - it is in one solid piece......not in squares like th erag bag you made........  That my friends will be for another day ;)

It was made from a bow of always artichoke seam binding ribbon, a loop of vintage lace ribbon, and a big button.  Cute, huh?

jingle, jangle, jingle......

.....you can hear the sleigh bells ring.....i am old kris kringle, i'm  the king of jingle-ing! ho! ho!

so - is everyone ready for the holidays?  i have my shopping done for our daughter - i'm glad i finished that up two weeks ago, since my hubby is laid up from breaking his ankle in two places and having surgery on thanksgiving day.  argh!!!  forgive me - i am not using capitals today.....not into it!  lol!!!

i do have something to share with you though.  the other night after i put my daughter to bed....i pulled out some stuff and got busy on the coffee table.  let me tell ya - the coffee table isn't the best place to work with a bad back...but i hated to leave my hubby sit - lay rather - and have me upstairs playing....so the coffee table it was.  lol!  sitting here thinking, i realize i could have sat at the bar - but i didn't think of that then, no shock there, huh?

i am really getting into these decor elements, i gotta say.  i really like making pictures and things with them.  wanna see what i made the other night???  do ya?

well?  you like?  it was inspired from another blog and i can't remember where i saw it - it was a while ago and i just filed it in my memory bank of things to make....you know, when i get a free minute to myself...lol!!!

the frame size is a document frame - fits a 8 1/2 x 11 instead of the normal 8x10.  the decor element is the medium black jingle all the way.  the ribbon is the wide striped black ribbon - love that wide ribon!!!

can you see in the picture that panel on the left is whisper white with whisper white snowflakes cut with my big shot and the snowflakes #2 die?  love the white on white.  i tied a few gold jingle bells to the ribbon with crochet thread....but the next chance i get to town, which might be easter, i am going to buy bigger jingle bells to tie onto the bow.....but you get the idea?  right?

the polka dot paper behind the decor element is cherry cobbler, from the desigher series prints paper packs.  they are huge packs, really.  the decor elemetn is applied to the front of the glass, so looking at it in person gives a little depth to it.  i had to give the jingle bell a jingle bell color.....so i used the backing sheet that the decor element comes on for the pattern.  after you burnish the decor element with the applitcator tool and get it to stick to the transfer sheet, the decor element comes off the backing sheet - which has the design image on it from the cutting process.  so, i cutout the jingle bell shape on teh backing sheet - which is actually garbage - and traced it onto brushed gold cardstock and cut it out.  i then adhered the gold cardstock to the back of the glass (inside of the frame)  with mini glue dots on the glass where the decor element would cover it.  so - if i ever wanted to replace the designer series paper and decorate it with different colors, the gold bell would still be attached to the glass....in the erfect spot for the decor element.  did i make that clear as mud?  lol!!!

well - off to check on the hubby....he is watching "the perfect storm"....not like we haven't watched that a gazillion times.  wonder if the ship makes it through the storm?

Out of Retirement :)

LOL!!!! 

Did you think I meant me being out of stamping retirement?? 

No silly - I meant I have used some retired stuff on this project.  I wanted to make a little something special for my daughter and her DIVA friends as the moms call them.  We all met last night for dinner - kid's choice - McDonald's......they really need to start selling "drinks" if you know what I mean....hehehe!!!  ( I don't even drink - but it does sound appealing on trick or treat night.....)  After the girls ate, we headed out for the local parade and some door to door begging  for a tootsie roll.  lol!

So, I made these for the girls - hopefully they are DIVAish enough :)

The purse was made of the top note die and the scallop oval frame die and the big shot.  The designer series paper is retired- I forget what the name of it is off the top of my head.  I also used the big shot and the sans serif alphabet dies to make their purses monogrammed.  :)  It is hard to see in the picture, but the letters are outlined with black glitter.  Gotta start them out early, right ???  hehehe!!

We are going to see my daughter's step cousins tonight,so I wanted to make them a treat bag too.  More retirees here, but there are some fun new things also.

The bag itself is made from the fancy favor box die and the big shot.  The skull stamp (just jawing) is also retired, but I still love it.... :)  But, here are some fun things I did to the skulls:

I used dazzling diamonds on both skull's eyes....but this one I used the smooch accent ink to give him a gold tooth.  Hae you ever seen The Bee Movie???  One of my favorite lines of it is when Barry Benson ( the main bee in the movie) says "I think I'll get a gold tooth and everybody can start callin' me dawg."  Guess you ahd to be (or BEE) there - but I can't get that quote out of my head since I made this.....argh!!

And this little cutie has a "pearl" tooth - I used the illuminate top coat smooch accent ink on this one.  Can you see it in the picture????

Well, I better run....2 1/2 million more thing to accomplish this morning.  Hubby would be proud, I am already doing laundry....lol!!!

I have been showing you so many things that I haven't made, I felt it was time to let out something that was mine :)

No?  Not as funny as I thought it might be.......lol!


My daughter is in swiming lessons.  Poor thing - My hubby and I  (mostly me) have been spending her whole life making her afraid to be around any water other than the bath tub - and that even has strict rules......I know - I need to loosen up.....and we take her to swimming lessons and expect her to be willing to do what ever they want her to do.  Her first session, this summer, went ok.  She had to be pulled off the wall to do everything and by the time her instructor had her half way across the pool, she did enjoy herself....but getting to that point wasn't very easy.  This session ended last night and her instructor has been really awesome with her.  All of the instructors are SRU students and this group we have this session are all so good with the kids.  You can tell they enjoy being around the kids, not just there to get paid to make sure kids stay above water....ya know what I mean?  So anyway - her next session starts next week so as far as my daughter is concerned....it will be life as normal - except she may not have the same instructor.......I sure hope she does. 

Boy - I went off the deep end there, huh?  LOL!!!  Get it??? Deep End???  Deep end - swimming - deep end????  LOL!!  I kill myself - and i didn't even mean to say that until it was already typed out......

So anyway - I wanted to give her instructor a "little something" for all of the extra attention she has given to my daughter.  Every girl likes chocolate, right??   Well - everygirl should...... lol!

I decide to see what I had in my stash of stashes and see if I had anything I could decorate and put some chocolate in.  I had a "few"  {**wink**} things that I could put chocoalte in and decorate......So I decided to go with a small basket.  And then I ran with it.  Well, walked with it.....I am not much of a runner - hehehee!!!!  Wanna see?

Isn't it darling?  Seriously - isn't it?  I cut felt leaves out with the leaves 2 die and my big shot....oh how I {luv} him...the big shot!!  Who did you think I was talking about???  Come on ladies - what is not to
[luv}?  I then took a piece of the black strtiped wide grosgrain ribbon and cut it in half lengthwise and then cut the finished edge off of one side.  Then - here is where the fun started - PULL THE EDGE PIECES OUT.......oh - how fun!!  This created a frayed edge and when I tied my bow it pulled more threads out making it look a little shabby.  I then pullede out Fabulous Phrases and stamped the word "enjoy" onto apiece of confetti cream cardstopck that I had already stamped a leaf from Autumn Spendor in old olive onto.  I ocmpleted it with the jewelry tag punch and punched a hole in the tag with my paper piercer and added it to the bow with a pin from the vintage trinkets,  {yum}  see?

cute, huh?  (boy, I am full of myself today, huh?)

A bag of store bought chocolate would look so tacky in here, right?  So, for pennies - I mean p.e.n.n.i.e.s. - i dumped it into a large flat cello bag and tied it with a piece of scrap ribbon fromt he basket and made a little "thank you" tag to hang on it.  The sentiment is from Curly and Cute.  I stamped it in early espresso onto confetti cream and then stamped off an old olive leaf from Autumn Spendor before punching it with the new extra large dcorative label punch.  I adorned it with two acorns stamped from Autumn Splendor mounted up on stampin' dimensionlas before tying onto the ribbon with twine.

So, I created this gift in a jiffy with my Stampin' Up! supplies I had on hand to make a bag of candy really look "wow."

Well, I sure am not a pioneer when it comes to making a purse out of the scallop square die and the big shot....but I did finally get around to making one.  I didn't really look up any direcctions on what to do...I just plugged through it from seeing so many online in the past.  Wanna see mine?

Excuse my hand holding it up.....I guess I should have taken the picture before washing it so it wouldbe stiffer....but I gotta tell you - I think these purses are less than adorable before washing to shabby up a bit.  I did, however, do more sewing on my square than I have seen in the past.  I also don't recall the edges being finished off quite like this of the ones I have seen:

Maybe I did...I don't know....but I don't remember it.  I had to add some pockets to the sides:

I will use these pockets for a cell phone, gum, keys, etc when I use this baby as a purse AND when I use it as a stamping supply organizer at stamping classes and clubs the side pockets will hold adhesives, bone folder, snips....who know....but I am sure it will be packed with stuff!

I was going to make some pockets for the inside....but honestly I have plans to make an organizer insert to tote around stamping supplies when I order more fabric.  I have been doing so many things with this fabric line, I am pretty much out of it....sad, sad day when you have a project to execute and you are out of fabric.....  I gotta place an order, soon!  You will see that organizer insert, I promise....as soon as I get one made.

And.....with scraps, I had to make a cute little flower pin.  I didn't wash it yet though.....I don't know what I was thinking.  lol!    Wanna see???

The solid layers are cut from wool felt .  teh dies I used to make this flower are: Island Flroal, and Blossom Party.  Look at the layered goodness of this cutie:

I sewed it all together and added a Big Designer Button from the Deck teh Halls button collection.  I gotta show you the back so you can see how I tacked the "leaf" layer down.

I didn't want the leaves to be three equal petals....so I tacked one off to the side.  Now I will have to sew the pin back on it and atatch it to my purse or shirt or something that needs some lovin'!

Well....leave me some love with your thoughts on these two projects.  I won't bite, honest - well - unless you don't leave me some lovin'!  lol!!

It's too early to think up something clever!

Yesterday when I photographed and edited the picture for today's post, I was singing a song in my head with the "fabric" substituted for the actual lyric....but it is early and I didn't write it down.  lol!  My sarcasm just comes to me, I guess I can't preplan it.  Would that make me a "stand up sarcastic blog poster????"  Probably not, even stand up comediens preplan, huh?  Oh well.....we will move on anyway.

I have been playing around with our new fabric line......oh how yummy it is!  I can't seem to get enough of the Deck the Halls collection.  How awesome would it be if it would expand with more coordinating fabrice that didn't leave us with the Holiday mini?????  Seriously - how awesome would that be???  I know, right???

Well, I have two fabric projects to share with you today.  A french style memo board and a little piece of wall art for the Holidays.

We will start with the memo board.

This was my sample board for a stamp camp I held a couple of weeks ago.  We made a glass jar with decor elements on it fro Halloween.  It was super cute and wayyyyy  super easy.  And then, we all made a memo board using Designer Fabric.  I took a bunch of the fabric to the camp and let everyone pick their own to make everyone's memo board personal.  We had a great time at the camp - the memo boards the girls did were awesome!  I have to say though when I asked my hubby for his staple gun for a Stampin' Up! class.....he did look at me like "are you serious.....a staple gun for stamping?"  And I think the girls that were at the camp got the same reaction from their hubbies.  ( I had them bring a staple gun if they had one to help with time )

Oh sorry.....I got really off track, huh?  And to think.....I haven't even had my diet Coke or Coke Zero yet this morning.  Maybe lack of caffiene makes me meander through my thoughts......or maybe caffeine makes it worse?  Hmmmmm.......  There I go again!

Anyway - my memo board was made with the Cherry Cobbler fabric from Deck the Halls.  I told you a while back that Cherry Cobbler was my favorite red we have .....didn't you remember?  So - when Stampin' Up! gave us a fabric that was cherry cobbler and very vanilla - it was meant to be. 

The ribbon pattern was made with the new Cherry Cobbler 1/2 " Seam Binding.  I gotta say - I {luv} this stuff!  It is so smooth and flexible and soft.....do you get the picture?  lol!  Where the binding intersected, to accent the quilted look of the memo board, I placed antique brads.  I gathered the seam binding through the prongs and put them throught the entire board to pull the fabric down a bit.  Wanna see?

You like?  I do!

Oh boy.....and I said there were two projects to share today.  The second one is a wall hanging I made for the Holidays coming up.  I gotta say.....I think this is really cute.  Boy, I am full of myself this morning, uh?  lol!  Without further delay......here it is:

I told you it was adorable....WHAT?....You didn't believe me?  After all this time, you still don't trust me?  That hurts.  Really hurts......

The background is just an ordinary piece of muslin that I sandwiched with another piece of muslin with quilt batting - bamboo quilt batting - ever hear of it?  Made me feel really "green" since I was using it on a tree project.  lol!  I then machine quilted it at an angle.  It isn't perfect...please don't measure down to the 1/16th of an inch.....I didn't care that it wasn't perfect, to be honest, it is to look "shabby - country - cute"  That is a professional decorating term, right?  lol!!

The tree pieces were cut with my pennant die (the smaller pennant) and big shot.  Do you give yor big shot massages weekly?  You should - it make sit more relaxed to pump out great projects like this :)  Each "pennant" is three layers - a piece of muslin and then a piece of wool felt and topped off with a piece of fabric from Deck the Halls.  I adhered the tree down onto the background and then added a trunk.

The tree trunk is simply a piece of wool felt cut with the new Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die in the Holiday Mini.  I stitched it right to the background piece very haphazardly with two colors of thread to kind of simulate tree bark.....how did I do?

After I had the tree, tree trunk and background all sewn together - I snipped all of the scallops and throught that baby in the washer and dried it in high heat to get the normal shrinkage you get with 100% cotton fabric in high heat.  Oh and the adorable fraying too!!  I was looking for that!

No tree is complete without decorationg, right?  Right....that is what I thought, so I adorned my tree with Deck the Halls Big Designer Buttons.  I tied bow with the 1/8th inch very vanill tafftea ribbon through the buttons before adhering them to the tree.  See??

And a tree topper......I must admit, I wanted to use the star die with some mustardy colored felt....but my felt color that I had just didn't mesh well with my tree....so I pulled out soem very vanilla taffeta ribbon and made a bow that I then acented with more 1/8th inch very vanilla taffeta and another big button.  Take a look at that:

You like?  I was very please with this tree.
