I have a fun fun fun project to share with you today!! I absolutely adore it...and my hubby made fun of it....what does he know???? MEN!

An Advent countdown tree....well, mine is actually a count up tree. My daughter's preschool does the weather and date on a chart every day, so I thought a count up would be more appropriate for her...the date will coincide with her tree.
I made each drawer out of the stampin' up exclusive die, matchbox and my big shot. The tree drawers are all old olive and the wrap designer series paper is from the simply scrappin kit, Christmas Jingle. I tied a bow or made a flat bow from red gingham ribbon and real red striped grosgrain ribbon. I attached each one of those to the drawer fronts with an antique build a brad. The numbers are all stamped with the calendar and numbers stamp set in chocolate chip. The tree trunk is also made from the matchbox die. Both drawer and wrap are made from chocolate chip textured card stock. After the tree was assembled together with sticky strip, I adhered a piece of wide old olive striped ribbon on each side of the tree and tied it in a bow on top of the tree.

I think that tree is AWESOME. Are you going to fill each drawer with little chocolates or put various items in them? What fun it would be to put different things in them. None for your hubby though.

A neat idea! Looks sturdy enough for little fingers to open over and over. I'm thinking of my 3 grandchildren in one family- should be able to fit a tiny something in each box for each one...Should I dash down to my "cave" and create a late starting calendar, or procrastinate til next year??
What a great idea! Your hubby is officially dubbed Scrooge. Men, what do they know?! Great idea. You could do something similar in a heart shape for Valentine's Day, with little things in each drawer and the "real" gift in the final one. Ooooh, the possibilities are endless! Paris

He's crazy! This is adorable! Why didnt I think of that. Tell him that your tree is all the rage, and all the demos are fighting to make them first! :)
