This seems to be a hard one for me.....

When my daughter turned was a big deal to me, don't get me wrong.  I didn't have much trouble with her turning 2,3, or even 4.  But for some reason this year, things have really hit me with her.  When I registered her for preschool, I didn't really think much about it.  Then, the day came to register her for kindergarten....K.I.N.D.E.R.G.A.R.T.E.N.!  Really????  I am not an emotional mess or anything....but thisngs really make me go hmmmm......this year with her.

Her actual birthday isn't until July, but her special school birthday is today.  She is sooooo excited.  She gets to be first for everything today.  She will wear a paper crown today.  She will take her birthday treats in today.  It will be all about!  fitting!

Anyway, which leads me to today's picture......
It isn't stamp related at all, but my hubby doesn't get it so I thought there might be a mom out there in blog land that would get "this" right with!

When I asked her what she wanted to bring for school on her birthday (months ago) she said five cookies.
The conversation went a bit like this:

mom: Oh, you mean cookies with a 5 on them?
her: no
mom: oh, you want each kid to get 5 cookies.....
her: No
mom: what are you talking about then??
her: I want my cookies to be shaped like a 5.
her: I want my cookies to look like a number 5 - I am going to be 5!!!
mom:  but I make about a cake?
her: no
mom: what about love cupckase!
her: No!
mom:  you can pick out little toys to put on the cupcakes - (hey!  I am grabbing at straws here!!)
her: mommmmmm.....I want cookies!
mom: ok......

So, the next time I went to the cake supply store, I looked for a 5 cookie cutter....found it and brought that baby home.

Earlier last week....knowing these cokies were coming......I asked her again what she wanted to bring for her school snack......she will forget about the cookies, right????

So, here we are to school with these-

What a peanut!

Happy Stampin'!

Your "5" cookies are adorable--not as adorable as your daughter, but none the less adorable. It is hard for us all to grasp that this little lass is growing up before everyone's very eyes---You have been a devoted mommy and have made many memories with her to last a lifetime. Maybe when I turn double 5, I'll order cookies just like your little one's :)

Love it!! I had the same "issues" when my son (youngest) left for kindergarten. Needless to say, we have a third child. She is now seven - that panic didn't happen again so we are happily a family of five!
