Sunrise....Sunset.....

These two cards remind me of that song "Sunrise...Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof. I think that is where it is from....
My High school music teacher would not be proud of me right now! LOL!




Here are two card I made this afternoon during what I call my "lunch break." To others, that time would be known as my daughter's nap time :)


I have been "studying" sunsets for a while now to see how I wanted to ink my Uninked Spectrum Pad. I think I figured it out. What do you think? I "wiped" the colors on Glossy White card stock and then stamped my front image in Basic Black.

Lets start with the tree card....
I stamped the row of trees from Lovely as a Tree in Basic Black. I matted that image in Basic Black and Ballet Blue. The segment on the right hand side of the card is Really Rust matted in Basic Black and then I wrapped Black Twine around that four times and tied in a simple knot. The card base is More Mustard and I also stamped the oak leaf bunch from Lovely as a Tree in More Mustard.


Now for the flower card......
My card base is a 4 1/4 inch square in Really Rust. My main image was stamped in Basic Black over my "sunset" with a stemmed flower in a Level 2 Hostess Collection - Stem Silhouettes. ( I think this stamp set is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!) That image was then matted in Ballet Blue and Basic Black. The greeting along the bottom was my version of a ribbon slider. (Ribbon sliders are getting very popular!) I wanted to use the Designer Label Punch for the Basic Black background but it wasn't quite long enough. So I was like....hmmmmm.....then I had a light bulb moment! I took a strip of Basic Black and used my Ticket Corner Punch on the edges. The stamped image is from the Level 1 Hostess Collection - Party Punches. I stamped it in More Mustard on Very Vanilla. I also stamped it a second time in Ballet Blue on Very Vanilla. I cut out the "b" in Ballet Blue ant raised it up on a Stampin' Dimensional. I punched out the More mustard image with the 1 1/4 inch Circle Punch and matted it on Ballet Blue with a circle punched from the 1 3/8 inch Circle Punch. I then took my Rectangle Handheld Punch and punched a slit on both ends of my Basic Black "slider" and slid a piece of 1/4 inch Grosgrain Ribbon in More Mustard.


That should about cover it.....oh my!

More Baroque Motifs.....

As I promised yesterday....I have more Baroque Motifs for you!

This card starts out with a Soft Sky base. I sponged lightly around the edges of all the Soft Sky pieces and card base with Blue Bayou. The second layer on the card base is River Rock. All three of these colors are from the In Color 2007-2008 Collection. They are only available until June 30, 2008. For the top and bottom segments of this card I stamped the Swirl from Baroque Motifs in Blue Bayou and stamped the smallest flower from the same set in Soft Sky.

The center segment is also Soft Sky. The "Warm Wishes" is stamped in Soft Sky. That stamp is from the Hugs & Wishes stamp set. The medallion stamp is also from Baroque Motifs. I stamped it on Soft Sky with Soft Sky ink rock and rolled in Blue Bayou ink. I then punched a hole with the 1/16 inch Hand Held Punch and put a gold brad in the center. I placed that up on a Stampin' Dimensional.

Happy Anniversary!

Jeff & my wedding anniversary was on the 16th of this month and this is the card I gave him. Earlier this month I realized that I didn't have any stamp sets that were masculine. So....you know how it is.....I ordered a bunch. Our anniversary was on a Sunday and the sets were due to ship to me on Monday....figures! So I pulled out my tried and true Baroque Motifs. I absolutely LOVE this stamp set. You can do so much with it!

I started with my color scheme: Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red. The front image was stamped in basic black on whisper white and I cut it out, leaving the centers stick out past my cutting. I mounted that on a slightly larger piece of real red. The band around the black matted white center strip is actually 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon. It is hard to tell in the picture that it is ribbon....but it is! The other stamping is pretty self explanatory. I will be posting other cards made with this set to show you how much I truly love it!

Simply Said... a buckle card!

Now for the makings of this card:
I started with a Basic Black card base measuring 5 1/2 x 7 scored at 4 1/4. I then placed a piece of scratch paper inside the card and wheeled the Kindness Jumbo Wheel inked in Whisper White Craft ink and laid that aside to dry. If you are impatient for the craft ink to dry because it takes some time, you can dry it with your heat gun. The inside of the card was 4 x 5 1/4 in Regal Rose stamped with two of the flower images in the Simply Said stamp set in Regal Rose and Basic Black Classic inks. To make the buckle hole on your card front, slide the Word Window punch in as far as it will go and punch that out. The buckle is a piece of Regal Rose cut 1 5/8 x 5 1/2 and stamped with another flower from Simply Said in Basic Black. I colored in the flower centers with the White Gel Pen. If you have been to any of my classes or workshops, you know I love that pen! Slide your "belt" through the buckle hole to adhere it to the inside card back to make sure it lines up with the hole. Adhere the inside of the card with the "belt" attached. I added ribbon to the side of the buckle hole by sliding the Rectangle Hand Held Punch in as far as it would go on the spine of the card and punching a hole. I then tied Black Gingham ribbon in a simple knot and then tied Pink Gingham ribbon in a simple knot over that to create a two colored knot. Stamp and mat you main image as desired. I used the row of flowers from Simply Said in Basic Black and colored in the flowers with the fine tip of the Regal Rose Stampin' Write Marker.

And there you have it....A Buckle Card.

Wild About You!!!

Here is the card I made and sent to my high school friend's son's first birthday. I can't believe he is a year old already! Happy Birthday Macadger!

The card base is Kraft. The main image is the lion from Wild About You stamped in More Mustard Classic ink. I then stamped him again on scrap paper in Really Rust and More Mustard again. I cut out the mane in Rust and put that up on a dimensional at an angle to show more "hair." On top of the "hair," I cut out the other mustard lion's face only and took a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and colored in the nose, mouth, and eyes. After the lion was assembled, I used the sponge dauber in more mustard and matted that image on Chocolate Chip. I layered that off set on a piece of Really Rust and stamped the Argyle stamp from All in a Row around the edges to simulate zig zag stitching. I also used that same stamp on the edges of the accent pieces of More Mustard. On the bottom piece of mustard I stamped "wild about you" from the Wild About You Set and accented it with a brad. In the upper corner, for an accent, I punched a piece of Chocolate Chip with the Word Window Punch and put a brad in the end and mounted it off the edge of the card and trimmed the end off.

I think this stamp set is sooo cute. I bought it because of it's versatility. I use it for kid's birthdays, new babies, baby announcements or just plain fun cards.

A Bear in the Woods

It is hard to tell in the picture....I couldn't get a bright picture of this card....but the card base is Always artichoke stamped with Sanded background in Chocolate chip. The main image is stamped on confetti white matted on chocolate chip, both punched in the corners with the ticket corner punch. Natural Twine is wrapped around the card fold twice and tied in a simple knot.

Now to how the main image was stamped:

I first stamped the bear from Wildlife Reserve in Chocolate Chip classic ink. I then created my mask for the reverse mask as I did in the tree card I posted earlier this month. I cut a circle with the Colluzle Cutter on a scratch paper. I laid that scratch paper with the circle cut out over the bear and stamped the single pine tree from Lovely As A Tree in Always Artichoke multiple times without reinking. While the mask was still on, I sponged Night of Navy in the ares around the trees to simulate a sky. Remove your mask and there you have it!

Birthday Calendars

Here are some of the Birthday Calendars I have finished! These calendars have been very popular!

The single one was covered in Designer Series Paper from the Baroque Motifs collection and stamped with Baroque Motifs in Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. The picture with two calendars were covered in paper from the Designer Series Paper in Blue Bayou. The main image was stamped with River Rock and Purely Pomegranate.

Snowflakes falling

Hi! I wanted to share a card with you that I made to sell at an upcoming show. I started with a Purely Pomegranate base. On Whisper White I stamped snowflakes from "The Snowflake Spot" in Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and Blue Bayou in a random pattern. I then stamped snowflakes in Wild Wasabi on Wild Wasabi on the center band. I made a ribbon slider by stamping "joy" on whisper white and punching with my large ovel punch. Using the horizontal slot punch, I punched a hole on both sides. After all of that, I sponged the white edges with Purely Pomegratate. I then rand the piece of Double Stitched ribbon through the "slider" and ahered that to the Wild Wasabi band. Finish assembling the cards and voila!

I really love this stamp set...it is so versatile! I will show you another day a card that uses this same stamp set that has some sparkle....love that dazzling diamonds!

Winter Wonderland

I have had several wonderful comments on this particular card, so I thought I would post it here and give the "deets."

I did a reverse mask technique on the card front. All that entails is creating a "hole" (what ever shape you would like) in a piece of thin paper and laying that over your card front. I stamped the tree in Artichoke Classic ink from Lovely as a Tree three times without reinking. And then, before removing the mask, I sponged Artichoke around the edges. Now I removed the mask and reinked the Same tree in Artichoke and took my Chocolate Chip Maker and colored in the stem. Stamp the tree over the masked image. Stamp your sentiment greeting. Now...for the fun part! I took my Two Way Glue Pen and drew in "glue lines" where I wanted the "snow" to be. Next, I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over the glue and tapped off the excess glitter. I sat it aside to give the glue a few minutes to dry and then finished assembling the card.

I looooove the look of Dazzling Diamonds on cards, it adds just the right amount of "bling" to your cards!

Lovin' this little elephant.....

I have recently learned of new babies coming to friends so I wanted to make cards for them to congratulate the happy new parents. Here they are.....

I water colored the elephant image with classic ink refills after stamping the elephant image in black staz-on. also, I used the white gel pen to highlight the scallops on the scallop punch.
