I combined challenges, of sorts. I used this week's color challenge by Kristina which is more mustard, really rust, kiwi kiss, and whisper white. And then I pulled out this week's Mojo sketch as a starting point. I want to use my new Sale A Bration stamps...I luv 'em. I will always love free rubber....ALWAYS! Anyway...here is what I did:
The card base is whisper white and then I made a background panel out of really rust that I had run through my big shot with the new exclusive stampin' up texturz plates.....I love these!!! I ordered both the Stampin' Up set and the regular set and let me tell you....the Stampin' Up exclusive plates are a much deeper etch than the regular ones. That doesn't really surprise me, they (SU) have a very high standard for deeply etched stamps and if you have used cheap stamps versus Stampin' Up stamps, you know exactly what I mean.
The vertical kiwi kiss stripes are from the kiwi kiss designer series patterns papers. Now for the fun part...you didn't think it could get any better than the texturz plates, huh? Well...I don't know if it is better...but it was fun at any rate! My main image panel is whisper white. I made a flower vase out of the wide oval punch...I cut the top and bottom off, swiped it with the more mustard ink pad...voila!...a flower vase! I then stamped the leaves from Botanical Blooms in kiwi kiss randomly. On scrap paper, I stamped the two styles of flowers in more mustard and really rust and cut them out. I arranged them around the leaves...fun, huh? The matt layer is kiwi kiss stamped with just the leave out line randomly. I matted that entire panel with a very thin layer of whisper white to give it some "pop" off of the page. My sentiment was stamped onto whisper white with really rust, also from botanical blooms. I then stamped the leaf "insides" in kiwi kiss, stamping off first. I punched that with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch and then matted that with a 1 3/8 inch circle punch in more mustard. I punched a hole in the top of the sentiment circle with my crop o dile and threaded kiwi kiss satin ribbon around the main panel and through the hole and tied a bow. All of that is mounted up on stampin' dimensionals.
Here is a different angle of the texture...I'm not sure how good you can see it in the picture....but it is great texture on real life!
Remember when I said I was going to start doing a little to the insides on my cards? Here is a shot of that...I just stamped the flower twice in the lower corner. cute.Let me know what you think, I would love to know :)
