Blogger's Challenge - week 47 and more of week 46!

HI all!

I have two things to share today...first my blogger's challenge from this week as well as the projects I made for my Mom...I couldn't post them in the Mother's Day blogger's challenge since she is a reader and so many of you said you couldn't wait to see what I made her when you saw the other stuff so I am showing it to you today....hope you don't mind.

This week's blogger's challenge was to make a card using red white and blue. Fitting since it is Memorial Day weekend, huh? But I wanted to take my patriotic color scheme in a different direction......

This isn't where I was planning on ending up...it sort of happened. The blue....sort of evolved, lol!

Here it is:

Have a look at all of the dimension:

My flowers are made from the die cut blooms from the current Occasions mini catalog. I love these!!! I rounded up all the petals on the flowers for dimension. See the white flower centers???? I told you I keep a jar of punched flowers from card stock scraps...that is where these came from. It makes me feel so good every time I pull this flower jar out to know that they were scraps that would have ended up in the trash...wasted money....everyone knows I wouldn't want to waste my stampin' money! LOL! Do you see the other scrap? That's right....my ribbon scrap jar came to the rescue with a piece of red striped grosgrain ribbon. This is actually a scrap of a scrap...my scrap family tree! Oh my....where will it end????

I scalloped my circle with none other than my 3/16th inch corner rounder with a circle cut from an odd ring number of the template on the colluzzle....love to do this! And my brad washers....love 'em!

I'll just cut to the recipe....

card stock: real red, whisper white, brilliant blue
ink: bashful blue, real red, brilliant blue stampin' write markers
stamps: all holidays
accessories: red brads, silver brads, stampin' dimensionals, corner rounder, 1/8th handheld punch, 1/4 circle punch, colluzzle, die cut blooms, summer picnic ds, three for you punch, boho blossoms punch, mat pack and piercer, white grosgrain ribbon, red striped grosgrain ribbon

Now for my Mom's homemade portion of her gift:

close ups of each flower panel:

matching card:

I love to watercolor...can you tell?

There is glitter in the flower centers...but you can't tell that from these pictures...and the flowers on the card are on stampin dimensionals as well as the single flower fron petal in the framed piece.

She is a stamper as well...so I gave her stamps and designer series paper as well....now she has to get stampin'! lol
