Give me some "monkey" love.......

Some Sock Monkey love, that is!!! Get your minds out of the gutters!!!!! How could you not love this little guy?

Don't you just love that little sock monkey??? It will be available in the upcoming 2008/2009 Fall & Winter Idea Book and Catalog. I knew as soon as I saw it...I wanted to watercolor it, of course, and another coloring technique I will show you another time.....

There are so many new things on this card.....let's see....
first off - all of the stamps are from from Sock Monkey....so cute!!!
And some new In Colors....the card base is Baja Breeze and those mats around the monkey and the sentiment circle are Riding Hood Red - all to die for!!!!
ooo.....and the designer series paper....the chocolate chip with white polka dots.....oh my....that is from Bella Rose Designer Series Paper - A MUST HAVE!!!!
did you see that scalloped edge??? Yes....that is the scalloped edge punch at work!!!! ANOTHER MUST HAVE!!!!!
I threw in a few oldies, but goodies too! The close to cocoa mat, very vanilla (sentiment panel) and watercolor paper.....and of course the aquapainter and ink refills to watercolor with....most of the refills were the new in colors....delish!!!!

Happy Birthday Sweet Heart!!!

Today's post has been brought to you by the number 3!

Today is my little girl's third birthday......I can't believe it!!!!

We are off eating her birthday breakfast with Elmo...I hope she enjoys that! We had to buy a breakfast character meal because it was the only meal that guaranteed that Elmo would be there....so breakfast it is! Last year we had an Elmo party...we should have done the same this year since we are spending her birthday at Sesame Place...but she wanted a Hello Kitty party! What is it with her and Hello Kitty???? That is what her "Big Girl Room" had to be when we converted her crib to a full bed...Hello Kitty! Let me tell you...it wasn't easy to decorate a Hello Kitty bedroom on a "non - collector" budget! But we are mustering through it! So anyway...she wanted a Hello Kitty party...so in the middle of our Sesame Street week...we have Hello Kitty! oh well!

We took presents with us for her to open on her birthday and her card....had to be Hello Kitty, right??? Well...I wanted to stamp her card....but came up empty with finding hello Kitty rubber stamps that you could make a card with.....so I turned to scrapbooking supplies. If seeing something on my blog that isn't totally Stampin'Up! makes you sad...turn your eyes away! There are Stampin' Up! things on here...but there are other things as well. lol!!

Close up of the balloons:

They were cut with one of my many die cut systems....lol! the "3" is from Stampin' Up!'s chipboard set- Lots of letters. I covered it with Tombo Mono Multi and chunky glitter from the spring mini catalog (retired...). The balloon strings are silver embroidery floss. I have been doing counted cross stitch for as long as I can remember, so there isn't a shortage of stitchin' supplies around here!

The sentiment is from Hugs and Wishes.

The Kitty is a Sticker, I adhered it to white card stock and cut it out...popped it up onto pop up glue dots...voila!

My accents at the bottom are flowers from the Three For You punch accented with black brads. I lined them up with my mat pack and piercer.

3 balloons, number 3, 3 flowers, 3 brads.....my little girl is 3!!!

Blogger's Challenge - Week 57 MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Merry Christmas (in July) to all of you!!!! This weeks' Blogger's Challenge was Christmas in July. if you haven't seen my Christmas Eve post...be sure to scroll down and check it out too!

Today's post uses the same box as yesterday but I made a set of three ornaments for our Pastor at church. There has been alot of talk among demonstrators on what they hope makes the new catalog from the past mini catalogs....on the top of my list from last years' Holiday Mini Catalog in Holy Tryptich and the Christmas sentiment- the name escapes me!!!! anyone remember what it was called???? It has a lot of beautiful Holiday sentiments......had a star stamp......oh well....it will come back to me...or I will have to go upstairs and see. Near and Far, Follow His Star....is that it?

Here is the ensemble:

closer look at the gift box:

Anyway....The ornaments are stamped on white chipboard coasters and I watercolored them with my aquapainter and ink refills. and all of them were "blinged" up with a 2 way glue pen and dazzling diamonds.

close ups of the ornaments:

Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!

My new stuff is finally here!!!

Lauren started yelling...."PPS....PPS!!!" Her lingo for Ups! lol!

And he brought three boxes to my door!!! I ordered a bunch of other stuff as well, but I will only show you the new goodies!

First off.....I earned 6 sets from the catalog from a while back based on sales (Thank You to everyone of you that placed an order with me!!!!) with Stampin Up! I wanted to wait and see the new stamps before I made my final decision. Wanna see it?

If you want to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator so you can earn free stamps...give me a call!

Next for the long awaited sneak peek stuff! Now I didn't order everything I was able to....so you might get another peek before the new catalog actually gets here! (I know....I am thinking the same thing you are thinking....."Why didn't she just order it all????....I know....I KNOW!.....)

Can you believe I only ordered two new stamp sets???? (and one - sock monkey - was on my free earned order....) my main concern was getting the new In Colors....GORGEOUS!!!....and that scalloped edge punch!!! The new Designer Series Paper - Bella Rose - and the Simply Sent Card Kit.....Those were icing on the cake!!! Or as Sock Monkey would put it....Peel on the banana!

Here is a closer look at the ink pads.....

Blogger's Challenge - Week 55

Well....I have been super busy and have been neglecting my Blogger's Challenge Group....I'm sorry.....

This week's challenge was to use bugs or insects. Hmmm..... I don't have any bug sets.....I do have Priceless that has a butterfly....OH! I have the level 2 hostess level stamp set Infinite Goodness. I have been wanting to bling up those dragon fly wings for some time now!

Here it is:

I used a rather simple layout for two reasons. 1. time - I don't have any, remember? lol! and 2. I am putting together a gift set for a hostess for tonight...yes tonight. But I didn't just finish this...I did have it done for Friday...just not enough time to post it.....sorry faithful blog readers... :( The reason for the simple layout is I am making different cards with the same set by just rotating the layout - I wanted the hostess to see it isn't hard to change the look of a card by just rotating. Sound silly? I hope not!

Wanna see that bling a little closer?

Well folks....gotta dash! I truly appreciate you coming by my place to take a peek at what I am up to....and I love the kind comments you leave when you are here :)

Oh yeah.....my preorder from the new catalog is coming this Tuesday.....I will post you some pictures. I can't promise I will do it Tuesday - I might not take the time to photograph it before I tear into it!!! LOL!!! Can I say----Scalloped Border Punch????? I need to say no more! :)

Happy Stampin' Ya'all!

Going to miss my Bali Breeze!

I made up a gift bag and coordinating card last night with the Bali Breeze designer series paper. It is a pretty safe bet to say it will retire since it has the current year's In Colors in it. Make sure you stock up before it is gone....I sure am going to! I have eyed the large flower design on one of the sides for a while now. It really is a big pattern to use for card making, in my opinion. But what if you cut it apart? Hmmm...........

Wanna see?

I really like it...do you?

Here is a closer look at the card:

The sentiment (which is the only thing stamped here) "for you" is from Fresh Cuts. It was available last month as a sneak peek but won't be available now until the release of the new Idea Book and Catalog in August.

Did you see the bling on that flower????? I used the 2 way glue pen and fine cosmo glitter to outline it. I then used a five petal punched flower, some flower fusion felt flowers and a rhinestone brad (ice rhinestone brads) to dress up the center. I love it! :)

I must say, I don't think the pictures do it justice for how sparkly it really is...not to toot my own horn :)

recipe:
stamps: fresh cuts
card stock: tempting turquoise, purely pomegranate
accessories: bali breeze ds paper, pomegranate double stitched ribbon, 2 way glue pen, fine cosmo glitter, flower fusion, ice rhinestone brads, 5 petal punch, stampin dimensionals

Monday, July 7, 2008

So sad to see you go.......

I will really miss both the designer series patterned paper and the stamp set used on this card. The paper is porcelain prints and the stamp set is wild rose. I think the single stemmed rose in this set is absolutely gorgeous!

I have to be very quick today....my little one has her first dentist appointment today and we are totally playing it up! I was deathly afraid of the dentist when I was little....still not to keen on one...hence my yucky teeth. I know it is something I just need to get over....but I can't. One day I will just build the courage and I will have to spend a medium fortune in my mouth....i am past a small fortune...lol! So anyway....it is very important to my husband and I that she not be afraid...so we have been talking this up big time...after she and I will go to buy a toy of her choice and to lunch together. I will have a small fortune in today, huh? wow....I sure got side tracked.....

Back to this card. I submitted it for a contest a while back. The layout is extremely simple but I did a few neat things with the center image. I cut the white panel with my colluzle cutter on an even number ring (don't know which one...I don't have the card in my position, I sent it in...remember? lol) I cut the blue bayou oval on an odd number ring. The reason I know that is if you cut an "odd number" circle or oval, you can scallop it with your 3/16th inch corner rounder- making a scalloped oval. The black mat wasn't cut with my colluzle though.....

Have any guesses what I used?

It is a Stampin' Up! product.......

know yet?

Is comes in two sizes....

any guesses?

Wanna see it up close?

Know yet?

I used the large oval punch to line around the oval! The colluzle made the mat bigger than I wanted so I experimented a little.....you should try it!

Did you guess the oval punch???? Be honest! hehehe!!!

Anyway...gotta dash! Don't forget to check out the bling!!! Fine Cosmo Glitter at its finest! I kill myself!! LOL!!! Fine glitter at its finest...get it? hehe!!!

4. Oh yeah...did I mention that I have seen some new stuff from the Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalog??? That will have to remain a teaser! hehehe!!!!

I will be away all weekend...so thing will be a little quiet around the blog.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!

Happy Birthday America!!!!!

Sorry...So Sorry.....

That I haven't posted in like forever! I have been overwhelmed with life lately! We will be away all weekend and I am trying to get ready to go today and tomorrow....pair that with my usual life appointments....and I am on overload! I'm sorry that the blog is what has suffered!

My grandma fell about two weeks ago and had to have surgery on her shoulder....yikes! Well, they put her in transitional care and I thought she could use something to brighten her room up a bit. What could a girl stamp that would brighten up a room a bit???? Hmmm...... Well....I actually stamped an accessory to what could brighten her room up a bit.

Intrigued yet?

I will also give you a little tutorial on what the accessory is.....now do I have your attention? lol!

Well....I will show you her card first! You will have to wait for the "cute" stuff! hehehe!!!

I will apologize right off....the lighting in her room stunk and I don't have it in me to edit photos right now...sorry!

The base is purely pomegranate...I will sure miss these In Colors this year! :( (Speaking of that....you only have until August 10th to get anything in the catalog with the current In Colors - ink pads, refills, card stock, ribbons, designer series paper, simply scrappin kits....I don't think I missed anything. Anyway...I read another demo say she sold 6 reinkers of last year's In Colors on Ebay for $99.00!!!!! Now - that's 16.50 worth of reinker for $99.00!!!! So...stock up now...don't depend on Ebay for retired In Colors.) Sure got off track, huh?

The main image is whisper white. I stamped the large butterfly from Garden Whimsey flying off of the panel in purely pomegranate and then again on a scrap of whisper white. I then took the tulip, also from Garden Whimsey, and inked it up with stampin' write markers in pretty in pink and old olive. Then I rolled the edges of the flower only in purely pomegranate and stamped twice randomly before reinking in the same way. I stamped "Get Well Soon" from Sincere Salutations in basic grey. I matted that onto old olive. I took that matted piece and matted it with a larger mat along the bottom in basic grey. I tied a piece of double stitched purely pomegranate ribbon around the matt along that bottom. I mounted that up on....no other than stampin dimensionals! lol!

Now for the fun part - cut out the butterfly on your scrap and adhere the butterfly body with mini glue dots to the body in the main image and fluff up your wings. Oh, don't forget to add dazzling diamonds with a 2 way glue pen first!!! A person recovering from surgery needs bling, right????? LOL!!!!

Now...If I still have your undivided attention....I will show you the accessory! hehehe!!!

I bought her a small potted flower and I thought it needed some bling! I made her two plant spokes to coordinate with her card....see them?

These were super easy! Stamp your images on whisper white...here, the large butterfly and snail from garden Whimsey and cut them out. Now, you must add bling...every plant needs bling! Dazzling diamonds with a 2 way glue pen will do! hehehe!!! Lay them face down, after the glue dries, and put a pop up glue dot in the center. Take a piece of thin wire...here some old floral wire I had laying around...and make a little loop on one end. Lay that loop in the glue dot. I then used a punched flower from my boho blossoms punch to hold it all together. Press firmly on the flower punch to adhere it all together. Poke in your flower pot...and you are all set!

See how the back of the spoke looked?

Did you enjoy this? My grandma sure did...she has been telling every nurse that come in "Did you see my flowers? My grandaughter made that for me? See the matching card?...." I'm glad it brightened up her day...it would get awfully gloomy laying in a hospital room for two weeks now having nothing to look at other than the foot board of her bed and a tv. yuck!

And the winner is.......

What a fantastic card! Love everything about it. Now for my organizational tip. I've got my SU cardstock stored in our Paper Holders by color family. I lay the holders on their side so I can just slide out what I need. Makes replenishing a breeze! Love the Stampin Stack & Store too. Great for all of our fun embellishements!

Men...men...men..men...manly men men....ooooo-uoooooo.....mmmmmennnnnn.......

Any of you watch 2 and a half men???? That song has been in my mind since I knew this week's assignment was to do a manly themed card.....lol!

My daughter always sings "I'm gonna be a cowboy baby...." every time she sees a cowboy hat...maybe I should have been thinking those words.... NO...my daughter doesn't listen to Kid Rock...ever....but she puts on a cowboy hat and we sing that line to her. Well...I sing that line to her. lol! So now she sings it.

Funny thing.....Yesterday my neighbor was mowing his grass and he had a hat on, not a cowboy hat...more of a golfing hat....and we were outside in the front yard (yard sale...) and she broke out in song..."Hey mommy! He's gonna be a cowboy baby!!!" I about died with laughter....I'm sure you had to be here....enough rambling! Sorry...can't help myself! Must be the 15 years I spent behind the hairdresser chair yapping!

I will confess though.....this card wasn't stamped this week.... I have been working feverishly on getting ready for my yard sale ( going on this weekend) and when the sale is over for the day my little is starving for me! So needless to say...I haven't stamped in over a week!! I know!!!! What has happened?!?!?!?!? But I haven't posted much and I feel bad about that! Today's card was actually submitted for an award...didn't win...but none the less...I still love it!

I can't go into deep detail today.....I am cramming this post in before I have to head outside.

Here is a close up of the brads...in the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware kit in the current mini. If you haven't gotten them this is the last week to get 'em....
I made brad washers like in my tutorial here, only I made them larger to accommodate the larger brads.....love it!

Wanna see more of that yummy hardware????

Here is a close up of that delish cowboy....my flash made it look like we were about to experience an eclipse! lol!!!

NOW FOR THE BLOG CANDY.........

I have to apologize...I have no picture....but....you will win a pack of Sale-a-Bration rub ons, a pack of adhesive rhinestone bling I found in my stash, a bracelet kit shown here, and a handmade card from me, little ole me!

What do you have to do to win???? Leave a comment on this post with your favorite organizational thing you do in your stamping space...if you don't have a favorite tip...leave a comment anyway....you can still win! I will drawn a random number with all of the entries on Tuesday night and post the winner here. Make sure you don't leave you comment as "annonymous" I won't know who the winner is. One comment per person, please.

NEW PRODUCT LINE FOR STAMPIN' UP!

Did I get your attention??????

Stampin' Up! told the demonstrators last week that they would be releasing a new "product line" next week...meaning this week. Needless to say...the speculation was brewing.... I voted to have them go into a stamped chocolate line...the perfect excuse to eat chocolate while stamping, right??? Well, I can tell you right off....it is not a chocolate line! (They never listen to me.....why not????)

Do I still have your attention????

Well....Yesterday was the day. They were releasing the information in an audio download at noon mountain time....3:00 for us in PA. My download took about an hour to download....I think the demonstrators crashed the system!!! lol! So I waited.....and waited....and waited......waited some more.....Then finally.....there it was!

Wanna know what the "new line" is???? It' is rude for me to string you along, huh? So no more stringing......

Our new line is an extension of the Definitely Decorative line. Stampin' Up! has introduced the Decor Elements line. It is a line of self adhesive vinyl wall decoration. There will be phrases and images that already coordinate with Stampin' Up!'s product line. The line will be released in three colors for now. There are 100 images and phrases in white and chocolate....hey!! I guess they did listen to me...We just can't eat it! hehehe!!! And there will be one image in Kraft.

They are to post the sales brochure online today...pending no crashing of sites...I will post it here for you to see.

Stampin Up! is manufacturing them right in Riverton, Utah...just like our stamps...made in the good 'ol US of A!!!!!! Way to go Stampin Up! :)

Father's Day....A day late....

and a dollar short! lol!

This was the card I made my Dad for Father's Day. Things around here have been ignorant busy for over a week....sorry for the lack of posting!

The card base is actually chocolate chip (hard to tell in the picture). The left panel is close to cocoa ran through the crimper - I really love that thing!!! - and then I swiped it with the close to cocoa pad to "grunge" it up a bit. I used the mat pack and piercer to line up the brad holes....I could not line them up with out that thing! The right panel is from Afternoon Tea. See??? All of the paper in that pack isn't feminine....I originally thought it would all be feminine looking....but not so. Speaking of Afternoon Tea....This is the last month to order from the Spring Mini Catalog. The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment comes from All Holidays and is stamped with close to cocoa ink onto confetti cream card stock.

I stamped the sea shells from Sea Side onto confetti cream with basic brown ink. I water colored them with ink pad refills and an aquapainter. I adhered them with stampin' dimensionals - are you surprised???? lol! See the bling on the sea shells??? I found, in my stash, a pen that is glittery....I tried it. I think it looks nice, do you? I had to add bling - but not too much bling....this was my Dad's card after all! hehehe!!!!

That about sums it up! Don't forget about my Retirement Stamp Sale - This is the only week!!!!

A day at the Beach!

Hi all!
I want to show you a scrapbook layout that was submitted for a contest...didn't win...but I thought you'd enjoy the eye candy!

Speaking of candy.....I am going to offer my first ever blog candy really soon...so keep your eye open for it. I surpassed 20, 000 hits on this blog...so I'm gonna celebrate by giving you the chance to win some goodies!

Anyway...back to the task at hand...this page. I took this picture last year when we decided to go to Erie for a few days for a mini get away. I have always loved this particular picture...as a matter of fact....I am tearing up now thinking about it. It is sentimental crap so I won't bore you with that....my little girl is growing up so fast!
The base is close to cocoa. I stamped the sea shells from Seaside with versamark and embossed with detail clear embossing powder. My journaling was done with the Write me a Memory Journaling Font CD around the picture on the bordering blue mat. The picture was matted with a thin layer of chocolate chip. The accent shells were stamped onto watercolor paper with basic brown and then watercolored with an aquapainter and watercolor crayons. I cut each of them out and adhered them around the page.

Here is the entire layout:

The title "good times" was a rub on from the Urban West collection. I put it right on the picture.

Here are some closeups of the shells....the conch shell and the long shell (name???) has crystal effects on the "inside" of the shell...hard to see in pictures. I also showed a closeup of the dimension of the shells....had to get my stampin' dimensionals in there, huh?

Sorry if I bored you with too many pictures.....I couldn't stop myself! LOL!!!!

A Tisket, A Tasket......

Wanna see my basket????

hehe!!! I was sitting at my desk at a loss for what to make for a three dimensional item to submit for a contest...while staring me right in the face....a small Longaberger basket with adhesives in it. I briefly thought....maybe I should recreate that....no, I couldn't do it. Then I told myself "why not??? You have woven many Longaberger baskets while on trips to Dresden....." So I started to cut card stock "splints." I stamped each one with my weathered background stamp and sponged all of the edges. Away I went trying to construct the basket bottom.....

I wove......I tightened....I adjusted.....wove some more.....

see?

Here is the close up of the label:

I used rough edges mini alphabet for the "Farm Fresh" and used my tag corner punch for the edges of the tag. I stamped two strawberries with Tart and Tangy and cut them out. I made 3D strawberries out of Summer Picnic paper and topped them off with a punched flower from boho blossoms punch and the olive poly twill ribbon for stems. I even made my own dried grass with the crimper.

That about sums it up! :)
go stamp! :)

Ding ding ding da ding ding ding da ding......

If you have ever been to a casino, you have probably heard this sound a lot! Never seems to be the machine I am playing though...... It has been a few years since I have been to a casino but the sound, I never forget. When we used to go...I swear I could hear that sound in my sleep!!!!To be honest....I don't really get the hoopla of playing slots. We used to go just for fun....then a long weekend in Vegas cured that! Too much gambling fo rme!!! After about 10 minutes of a casino now and I am ready to move on....too boring for me! I like to see stuff when I vacation...not lay around casinos. Don't get me wrong, we saw stuff in Vegas. It was slot "over load" for me. Oh well....think of the money I will save not going to casinos in the future......I can spend that on stamps!!!!! lol!

Why all the talk about slots and casinos????

I wanted to share a card I submitted for a contest recently...which I didn't win. Oh well! So, without further adieu.....

This is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square card...so extra postage would be in order. I used Tart and Tangy on the white panels to create my spinning wheels. I drew a line across the center with my Stampin' Write Journaler and a ruler. Those panels were matted onto basic black. The card base is brushed silver card stock. I created the pull handle by cutting a strip of basic black and the punching a circle with the 3/4 inch circle punch. I added a "shine" accent with my white gel pen. The sentiment "dream BIG" comes from It's All Good. I inked it up with stampin' write markers - real red and basic black. It was matted with real red and adhered with stampin' dimensionals over the handle base.

See the money tray?????

It was a three dimensional tray with coins made from punching 3/4 inch circles and small ovals of brushed silver and brushed gold card stock. I sponged the edges off those coins with basic black. They were adhered at all different dimensions with...you guessed it....stampin dimensionals!

Fun, huh?

Hey!!! Have I mentioned that the RETIREMENT LIST comes out JUNE 15th!??!?!??!?!!?!!!!! Oh my!!! Let the excitement begin.......
