I made this card last week for an online challenge. The challenge was to "keep it in the family." That simply means to make a card using card stock, ink and accessories in the same color family. As simple as it sounds...it was really hard for me not to add just one more color...one more accessory....one more embellishment that "wasn't in the family." I did use black though..I consider it a "neutral" and neutrals are almost always allowed. :)

This is a much simpler card than I usually make, in my opinion. I was so fixated on the "in the family" I just couldn't get my mojo but all in all I think it turned out ok. A simple masculine card...how many men want fru fru and bling on their cards? right?
Here it is:

I love these two blues....I know what you all are thinking...."she "loves" everything...." well....I do, really. I love everything in my stamp supplies...that is why they are in my stamping supplies...haha! :) See, there is a reason for me loving everything. :):):)

recipe:
card stock and ink: soft sky, blue bayou, basic black
stamp sets: winds of grace
accessories: black twine, black eyelets, crop a dile, mat pack, stampin dimensionals

Edited to add: the sentiment looks crooked in the picture...rest assured in real life it is straight. (I even used my stamp a ma jig to ensure proper alignment....) It must have been the angle that I took the picture. ;)

Great card!! Very simple, yet elegant. My Dad was in the Navy and I know he'd enjoy this card. It looks wistful on a foggy sea.
